Spring 2008

News from Your Commander

Happy 2008 everyone

As we prepare for the upcoming skirmish season, I again would like to thank you all for the trust that you have bestowed on my staff and I. I for one am truly humbled.

I know that there will issues that arise that may be heated in some fashion or another, like BOD’s decision to purchase another parcel of land in Winchester. When these times occur we need to remember what we all originally joined the N-SSA…..”To Have Fun”

This is the core root of why we do what we do. Sure, it’s great to shoot well, win Regional or National medals and even, maybe, be photographed for the Skirmish Line. But the underlying it all, it all, it’s supposed to be fun! When all else fails let’s remember that.

A couple of quick notes from the BOD meeting

The Bivouac Officer has asked the membership to maintain their camp sites in Ft. Shenandoah. This includes dilapidated trailers and or structures. This is the team’s responsibility as per the bivouac rules.

The Executive Secretary is now requiring an actual signatures on the “Request to Host a Regional Skirmish” forms. This is due to insurance issues. I therefore will need that form sent to me, not the actual application. I need these 90 days prior to the skirmish date. I have emailed these forms to all team commanders.

Hope you had a great Winter and Remember……………It’s Fun

                                                            Roger Gray
