Mid - Atlantic Region

"Third Annual Commanders Shoot"

Yes it is that time of year!! Our region will be hosting its "Third Annual Commanders Shoot" at Springtown, Bucks County. In the past we have asked you the skirmishers what you wanted out of this skirmish, and we would like to thank the twelve teas that had responded. We will be sticking with the "buddy style" skirmish instead of the team entry format. This shoot will now also feature four different events, smoothbore as well as repeater have now been added to the shooting schedule. We are hoping that with this changes we will have a larger numbers and can build on the past success and make this into a great shoot. One where we all have fun and support our region.

If you do not remember, this is the one shoot a year where all of the money raised is given directly to the region. In other words it is the one attempt a year to keep "potential dues increases" at bay and support our region. In the past this shoot has had modest success, but with the small amounts of money earned we have been able to provide the region with a new sound systems. We also used some money that we raised to help pay off the loan that we took out from the range improvement fund. Making us the first region in our organization to actually pay off an entire loan in full or range improvement or acquisition! The best part of all of these things is that we did all of them without raising dues! These are the main reasons that we want to continue this shoot. Other reasons for why this is such a great shoot is the ability to meet new people from within our region. The buddy style shoot gives you the chance to meet some new people and put names with faces that you have seen for years. On Saturday night we will be having dinner in the clubhouse, it will be venison stew, and there will be beef stew as well. Afterwards we will have a regional campfire, giving you a chance to talk to old friends and make new ones.

Again all of the money raised goes straight to our region, this is one of our biggest fund raisers of the year and it involves skirmishing. If we need to raise money why not do it having fun skirmishing! One shoot a year, five dollars an event, twenty bucks, all four guns!!! Is there any other shoot this year or next where you get all that and support your region?

With your support we hope to continue our skirmishing tradition that we have started with the Commanders Skirmish. we hope to hear from you and see you at Springtown in the fall.

Support Your Region!
